He's very proud of his wife, Francie, a registered nurse and marriage and family therapist; daughter Alexis, a 2000 Hemet High grad; and son, Kevin, who graduated from Hemet High in 2005.

More than 700 firefighters are battling the wildfire in San Jacinto Mountain area.

Authorities ordered hundreds of homes to evacuate in the mountain communities of Idyllwild, Apple Canyon, Lake Hemet, Mountain Center and Hurkey Creek while firefighters mounted an aggressive attack against the 4,700-acre Cranston fire.
