It has been a true gift to be accepted for a PBS broadcast. This would not be possible without the support of our recent donors!

While we were originally working towards a Fall broadcast, we’ve made the critical decision to move our this to 2026.

Given recent reductions in federal budgets for key institutions, this extra time will allow us to build meaningful partnerships that will help us expand our reach. This is also an opportunity for you, our followers, to get involved!

Last month, The Creative High made its return to the big screen with a powerful event at the Majestic Theatre in Madison, WI, presented by Recovery.com on March 25th, 2025.

Earlier last month, filmmakers Adriana Marchione and Dianne Griffin were featured on the Recovery.com Podcast, with host Dr. Mala, where they explored the powerful connection between art, healing, and recovery, and the making of THE CREATIVE HIGH.

Author Barbara Kingsolver talks about the misconceptions surrounding substance use disorders, and the common prescription-to-dependency spiral that has precipitated the ever-widening addiction crisis among the vulnerable rural communities of Appalachia.

Her 2023 novel, “Demon Copperhead”, for which she won the Pulitzer Prize, explores the devastating impact of the opioid crisis on both this region as well as rural America in general.

Earlier this month, Kingsolver opened Higher Ground Women’s Recovery in Lee County, Virginia, which was funded using proceeds from the sales of her bestselling book.

The Creative High returns to the UK with a special screening at the 22nd Cinecity Film Festival in Brighton on November 14th 2024.

We are thrilled to have our film screened as part of a joint presentation, featuring a live musical performance by the phenomenal New Note Orchestra –the first recovery orchestra in the world. New Note will be showcasing their new original work ‘Glimmer Warning’ before a brief interval, which will be followed by a screening of The Creative High.

This is a long one! We were thrilled to attend the The Global Exchange Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The GXC2024 was originally scheduled to take place from October 6th-9th, 2024. Alas, nature had other plans! Our time in Florida had to wrap up earlier than expected because of Hurricane Milton. Nevertheless, The Creative High was honored to be highlighted as part of the opening performance on Day One!

Despite the changes, our abbreviated time at the conference proved to be an enriching, informative experience. We were pleased to meet with and hear from several important contributors, advocates, experts and stakeholders from the communities of behavioral health and addiction recovery.

1. Director Adriana Marchione had a wonderful conversation with Benjamin Field from Lightning Step, a software solution created for behavioral health treatment facilities.
2. Former Congressman and mental health and recovery advocate Patrick J. Kennedy delivered an exciting, powerful opening address at the conference.
3. The opening performance, during which our film The Creative High was highlighted and thus introduced to a large audience of conference attendees.
4. Filmmakers Dianne Griffin and Adriana Marchione (L-R) together at one of the events.

We hope to be there again in the not-too-distant future, preferably during a sunnier time!
