Thinking about support systems: strong, steady, resilient.

This piece was recently fired at a workshop with generous knowledge and guidance,  at , in a gorgeous clash of chaos and community.

While I make more of these sculptures in the gasps of time I have, it’s beyond exciting to see work that is finished in ways that reflect its instilled movement. Science and physics, bb.

Looking forward to more experiments in this direction of atmospheric firing, and more collaboration with the humans that make it all happen. 🖖🏼

Showing a collection of small mirrors alongside 24 other Bay Area artists and designers with retail booth at the MRKT, now through Jan 25. Objects for the Threshold

My mirror series, Bend it Back, reflects a passing by without idling. They consider a fleeting self-actualization through oddly framed reflections. Little peeks. The motion based, sculptural frames are made in tandem with a physical reflection of the quiet, buzzing energy of working in clay.

The mirrors came together in a huge push at the end of 2025. The process taught me a lot, as it always does, and I’m excited to share snippets of all of it… including working with a headlamp during a blackout.

Already overwhelmed by the positive feedback and honored to be a part of this fabulous group.
This year already has me sprinting.

2025 reflection timez

A huuge part of 2025 for me was focused on improving skill and technique, which ended up being incredibly valuable on a community level, but more on that later.

One of my absolute favorite workshops was with Zoe Dufour ( ). I rarely do realistic figurative work, and this class was an expansive lesson in form and anatomy. Zoe’s skill set is remarkable, but even more impressive is her ability to teach. The instruction was clear, generous, and deeply informative.
This figure took me forever, especially the face and, more importantly, the toes, but I’m reasonably happy with the finished piece (too much glaze applied 🫠) and even more so with the knowledge gained from the process. I plan to pull inspiration from this experience into my play and experimentation in the new year.

Zoe is teaching a number of workshops in 2026, and I highly recommend them if you’re interested in anatomy and form in clay at all. I’ll be at her weekend workshop at this March 😉

Handbuilt Stoneware, unglazed

More exploration of shape and movement dictated by a fussy sticky clay. Apparently I love a struggle. Annd I can’t wait to dive into new finishes for these bigger sculptural pieces at the end of the year… after

Treading that line between making work to sell, which I do enjoy, and making work to express and explore. I prefer the latter. I need the latter. It’s the tightrope that so many of us walk: how to create meaningful work while also keeping it sustainable as an artist. Or at least enough.

I feel extremely lucky to be making this happen, but the sheer amount of spread out labor has me buzzy these days. Anyone have tips on taking naps?

It’s been a minute, but I’m still here, still falling forward, still covered in dirt… living that lug life. Constantly sore. Can someone please just take over all things computer and social for me? 🥴
