🌎 Calling in the ancestors. Jeremy Dutcher invited all of the ancestors, relatives and living beings into the space with gorgeous song and story. Bringing in voices and chants from his Neqotkuk First Nation roots, Jeremy’s powerful music made representing one’s own culture feel both personal and universal.

His was just one of many Native peoples who generously shared songs, dances and story on this incredible Indigenous Peoples Day. It’s our honor to host them, alongside our partners at International Indian Treaty Council, Indigenous Justice and Sacred Fire Productions, for another outstanding SF Indigenous Peoples Day celebration.

💃🏽💖 Anyone can dance. In typical Rhythm & Motion style, Dudley Flores led dancers and dance lovers alike for one last dance after an afternoon of gorgeous performances dedicated to R&M founder Consuelo Faust. Consuelo championed the power of dance to joyfully bring people together, and this day did just that.

Many thanks to Dudley, the R&M family and all of the artists and participants who got to celebrate with us.

🌟💙 “Estrellita del lejano cielo.” Quinteto Latino shared their rendition of the classic Mexican song “Estrellita” for their last piece, a sweet ending to a lovely lunchtime concert. We’re honored for them to share with us a suite of beautifully composed songs from across the Latine diaspora. It’s bittersweet to be part of their last season of performing live as an ensemble, but we’re excited for what’s to come from these talented musicians.

Our last Thursday Lunchtime Concert of the season is next week. Enjoy your lunch outdoors with incredible music one more time before the end of the year!

🎃✨ Our biggest little Halloween party is back! Halloween Hoopla returns for its 26th year with family-friendly frights and delights for kids under 10 and their adults. Catch awe-inspiring performances from Circus Bella with live music from the Circus Bella All-Star Trio, followed by the Halloween Costume Parade grand finale. The band rocked out on stage at the end of an incredible afternoon of dance, music and storytelling rooted in the African diaspora. Much appreciation to our partners at Duniya Dance and Drum Company for bringing together the community to celebrate African arts, culture and joy.
