We are just two days away from our celebration of Foglifter at Martuni's! We have six amazing Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Charlie Neer!

Charlie (he/him) is a q***r trans writer living in the Bay Area. His work is featured in The Swamp Literary Magazine, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Vital Sparks, and more. He is the Accessibility Coordinator and a Poetry Editor at Foglifter Journal and Press. He previously served as Editor-in-Chief of MARY: A Journal of New Writing at Saint Mary’s College of California.

This Thursday we return to Martuni's to raise a glass to the amazing Foglifter! We have six fabulous Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Natasha Dennerstein!

Natasha has an MFA from San Francisco State University and has published several poetry collections and chapbooks. Her most recent collections include “Apps Poetica” from The Los Angeles Press and the chapbook “Caught in the Machine” from Be About It Press in Philadelphia. She lives in Oakland where she is the editor-in-chief of Cherry Pie Press, an LGBTQ poetry imprint.

Come on out and see us this Thursday. Doors at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm. No cover charge or drink minimum. We can't wait to see you!

This Thursday we are celebrating Pride at Martuni's with Foglifter! We have six amazing Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Kar Johnson!

Kar is a writer, performer, and bookseller living in the Bay Area. Their work has appeared in Foglifter, The Los Angeles Press, The Santa Clara Review, and elsewhere. Johnson holds an MFA from San Francisco State University. Since 2020, they have served as the event manager for Green Apple Books in San Francisco.

It's going to be a fabulous evening of q***r words, martinis, and prizes. Come on out and see us!

Happy Pride Month! We are so excited to raise a glass to Foglifter this Thursday. We have six amazing writers for the evening, including Briana Grogan!

Briana (she/they) is a Black q***r femme poet and community birth worker from Southern California. She received her MFA in Poetry from Mills College and is a 2025 Lambda Literary Fellow and Rosemary’s House Fellow, as well as a 2023 grant recipient of the San Francisco Arts Commission. Their poetry explores the silence in grief and rejoice in healing. Slowing down, liberation, and joy are central to her praxis with the Black body.

Tonight is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five amazing writers this evening, including Khalifa Mitchell!

Khalifa grew up in East Oakland, CA. He is self-described movie buff, poet, writer, novelist and screenwriter. His first full length book of poetry, “Liquid Tachyon Temples,” was recently published by Cherry Pie Press.

Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7:00pm. No cover charge.

Tomorrow is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five fantastic readers for the evening, including Rachel Richardson!

Rachel is the author of three books of poetry, most recently Smother (W. W. Norton & Co., 2025). Her poetry appears in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Yale Review, American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Rachel is the Co-Founder of Left Margin LIT, a literary arts center in Berkeley where she teaches and also works on her own new writing in their shared writers' workspace.

We are just two days away from Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five incredible writers for the evening, including Vincent Chu!

Vincent is the author of the debut novel Nice Places (Forest Avenue Press, 2026) and the story collection Like a Champion (7.13 Books, 2018). His fiction has appeared in Muumuu House, STILL Magazine, Pithead Chapel, PANK Magazine and elsewhere. Vincent is a Hambidge Fellow, former Headlands Center for the Arts Affiliate Artist, and Pushcart Prize nominee. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA.

This Thursday is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five wonderful readers for the evening, including Colleen McKee!

Colleen is the author of seven collections of poetry, memoir, and fiction. Her latest, Feeding Ghosts, is about the prolific publisher, editor, author, and musician J De Salvo. Colleen grew up in the wild hills of Missouri but now lives in San Francisco where she teaches English to immigrants and creative writers.
