Tonight is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five amazing artists for you this evening, including Jennifer Barone!

Jennifer is the author of four poetry collections, including Sirenland and Saporoso: Poems of Italian Food & Love (Feather Press). A two-time winner of the SF Public Library’s Poets Eleven contest for North Beach, where she resides, she hosts the Voices From the Hill podcast interviewing Bay Area authors for Telegraph Hill Books/Libreria Pino, and leads creative writing workshops that blend writing, alchemy, and Italian culture.

It is going to be a fabulous night of words, music, and martinis.

Tomorrow is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! Please join us for an evening of words, music, martinis, and prizes. We have five amazing artists with us, including Lucie Pereira!

Lucie is a Pushcart and Best of the Net nominated writer and educator. She is the food and beverage editor at Honey Literary, a poetry reader for Split Lip Magazine, and the author of the chapbook From Here to the Ocean (Finishing Line Press 2025). She lives in San Francisco, where she teaches second grade and co-hosts the reading and food pop-up series Kitchen Table.

Show is free with no drink minimum. Doors at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm. We can't wait to see you!

We are just two days away from Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five amazing artists with us for the evening, including Melinda Clemmons!

Melinda’s first book of poetry, Closer, will be published by Pine Row Press in September 2026. She was a finalist in Ex Ophidia Press’s 2025 Richard-Gabriel Rummonds Poetry Prize as well as the Wandering Aengus Press Book Award. Melinda’s poems and stories have appeared or are forthcoming in One Art, Rust + Moth, Midwest Review, Shrew, West Trestle Review, and more.

Come on out and join us at Martuni's for Literary Speakeasy! We have five amazing artists for the evening, including Beth Winegarner!

Beth is a journalist and writer who’s contributed to the New York Times, the New Yorker, The Guardian, and many others. She is the author of several books, most recently "San Francisco’s Forgotten Cemeteries: A Buried History” and “Swim Poems,” and she is the co-host of the Dead Reckoning podcast.

This Thursday is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five amazing artists for the evening, including our musical guest Maeve Brown!

Maeve is a singer-songwriter based in the Bay Area of Northern California. Her earliest memories include waking up her father unintentionally with the sound of trying to find the music in her head on the piano keyboard. Evocative lyrics, with mixed musical styles, Maeve explores life through music. Guitar is Maeve's primary instrument. Classical music, jazz, many different types of rock and latin music are key influences.

Tonight is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's. We have five wonderful featured artists for the evening, including Kimberly Gomes!

Kimberly is a creative director, author, and writing coach. She’s the author of the poetry collection Love Notes the Body (Dancing Girl Press, 2019) and a roadtripping, self-discovery travel novel, A Road of Her Own. Her novel was a semi-finalist for the 2022 Black Lawrence Press Prose Book Award and she was selected from 700+ candidates to be an Arquetopia Oaxaca Artist-in-Residence.

It's going to be a a fabulous night featuring some of the best Bay Area talent. Show is free with doors at 6:30pm. Come on out and see us at Martuni's!

Tomorrow we return to Martuni's for another Literary Speakeasy! We have five awesome artists for the evening, including Dylan Connell!

Dylan is the author of Nadie se salva and The Mask of Aphrodite. His work explores human psychology in relation to the troubled spiritual times of the twenty-first century. In addition to fiction, Dylan organizes hip-hop events across the Bay Area and often takes the stage himself—most notably, every First Friday at the Alan Blueford Center for Justice in Oakland.

Tomorrow is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's. It's going to be a fabulous evening featuring five wonderful artists, including our musical guest Beauty!

Beauty happily transplanted herself from Boston to San Francisco just four years ago, and has been loving almost every minute of it. Labeled a chanteuse by some new friends, she decided to write poetry as well, and is celebrating publication in the anthology "Rainbows and Beyond" from publisher Unicorn Teeth. A devout Socialist, Beauty says she won’t stop until the last vestiges of American Imperialism have been deconstructed and spat out.

We are so excited to see you this Thursday at Martuni's for Literary Speakeasy! We have five awesome guests for the evening, including Ezra Fox!

Ezra is a Best of Net nominee who lives and writes in San Francisco, CA, and holds an MFA from Indiana University. A Bread Loaf, Tin House, Sundress Publications, and Lambda Literary Fellow, and recipient of the Lili Elbe Memorial Scholarship for promising transgender writers, Ezra's work appears in TriQuarterly, The Pinch, Fourteen Hills, Interim, and elsewhere. Additionally, they won the 2025 West Trade Review Poetry Prize, and was selected as a finalist for poetry prizes for Palette Poetry, Bellingham Review, and Birdcoat Quarterly.
