Tonight is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We have five amazing performers for the evening, including Kim Shuck!

Kim is a poet and visual artist as well as poet laureate emerita of San Francisco. She is the author of several books. Her latest collection, November Dance Shirt, was just recently published by Collapse Press.

Please join us this evening for a spectacular night of words, music, martinis, and prizes. No cover, no drink minimum.
Doors open at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm. We can't wait to raise a glass with you!

Tomorrow is Literary Speakeasy at Martuni's! We are excited to welcome back T.K. Rex as one of our featured readers.

T.K. is a science fiction and fantasy author whose short stories can be found in more than thirty publications, including Asimov's, Strange Horizons and Reckoning. T.K.'s recent debut story collection, "The Wildcraft Drones," explores a turbulent timeline where the role of intelligent machines changes alongside nature and humanity, in fourteen tales from the climate crisis and beyond.

It's going to be a fantastic night of stories, poems, music, and martinis! Doors at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm. Come on out and raise a glass with us!

We can't wait to see you this Thursday at Martuni's! We have five amazing artists for the evening, including Karol S. Olesiak!

Karol is a q***r, disabled, award-winning poet, writer, and activist. They are the editor of www.soldiersforthecause.org, a veterans antiwar blog that started as an affinity group for Occupy Wall Street. Karol has two chapbooks: The Airplane Game, available from Moonstone Press, and Saturday Morning Crusades, forthcoming from Finishing Line Press in September 2026.

Literary Speakeasy returns to Martuni's this Thursday! We have five incredible performers for the evening, including Tracey Knapp!

Tracey is the author of two poetry collections, Swerve (Pine Row Press, 2026) and Mouth (42 Miles Press, 2015). She has received prizes and scholarships from La Romita School of Art in Terni, Italy, the Tin House Writers’ Workshop, and the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fund. Her work has appeared in The Glacier, SWWIM, ONE ART, Cream City Review, and elsewhere. She has been nominated for Best of the Net and two Pushcart prizes.

It is going to be a fabulous night of poetry, music, martinis, and prizes. Doors at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm. We can't wait to raise a glass with you!

This Thursday we are back at Martuni's for another evening of words, music, and martinis. We have five amazing artists for the evening, including our musical guest Dawn Oberg!

Dawn is a fantastic songwriter and pianist. New York Music Daily called her EP "Nothing Rhymes with Orange" as "2017's funniest political album." She is also the host and curator of the monthly Barfly Cabaret show at Martuni's. Her lyrics are smart, heartfelt, and humorous. You don't want to miss her set on July 30!

Literary Speakeasy is free with no drink minimum. Doors at 6:30pm, show starts promptly at 7:00pm. We can't wait to see you this Thursday!

Tonight is the night! Come on out to Martuni's as we celebrate Foglifter! We have six fabulous Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Grayson Thompson!

Grayson is Foglifter Press' 2024 Start A Riot! Chapbook Prize Winner with "Sand Bodied Florida Boy" and Winner of Write Bloody Publishing's 2024 Jack McCarthy Book Prize for his full-length collection, "A Congregation of Alligators." Grayson is also the inaugural Slam Poetry Champion of Santa Rosa, CA, and a performer for the FOUND POETS reading series in Sonoma County.

We can't wait to celebrate Pride with you tonight. Doors at 6:30pm, show promptly at 7:00pm. No cover, no drink minimum. Come raise a glass with us!

Tomorrow we are celebrating Pride with Foglifter! Please join us at Martuni's as we feature six amazing writers, including Jennifer Nguyen!

Jennifer is a non-fiction writer based in Oakland. Her first book of personal essays, "Everything is Fine: Vietnamese American Notes," will be published in 2028. She is currently working on a book about abolitioning institutional philanthropy, the field in which she works.

We are just two days away from our celebration of Foglifter at Martuni's! We have six amazing Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Charlie Neer!

Charlie (he/him) is a q***r trans writer living in the Bay Area. His work is featured in The Swamp Literary Magazine, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Vital Sparks, and more. He is the Accessibility Coordinator and a Poetry Editor at Foglifter Journal and Press. He previously served as Editor-in-Chief of MARY: A Journal of New Writing at Saint Mary’s College of California.

This Thursday we return to Martuni's to raise a glass to the amazing Foglifter! We have six fabulous Foglifter contributors for the evening, including Natasha Dennerstein!

Natasha has an MFA from San Francisco State University and has published several poetry collections and chapbooks. Her most recent collections include “Apps Poetica” from The Los Angeles Press and the chapbook “Caught in the Machine” from Be About It Press in Philadelphia. She lives in Oakland where she is the editor-in-chief of Cherry Pie Press, an LGBTQ poetry imprint.
