Congratulations to , who has been awarded the 2026 Award for Sculpture!

One of the most prominent sculptors and land artists of our time, Goldsworthy has spent five decades exploring process, temporality, and the relationship between humans and the land through sculpture, installation, photography, and video.

This prestigious recognition follows an extraordinary year for Goldsworthy, including the Hugo Burge Foundation’s inaugural Dent in the Universe Award, honors at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s Annual Gala, and Andy Goldsworthy: Red Flags, presented by FOR-SITE Foundation and Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture with support from Haines Gallery.

Ricardo Mazal often begins with images gathered on site, which later become the foundation for a carefully conceived painting. Bringing that vision to life can call for an inventive approach, as he adapts his tools to the specific needs of each painting—sometimes using them in unexpected ways, from extended foam brushes to paper towels.

🌿Artist Spotlight: 🌿

Victoria is a Bay Area artist and educator whose multidisciplinary practice explores their experiences as an Indigenous artist and parent, ancestral histories, land, and relationships with the natural world.

Drawing on Indigenous teachings and a personal spiritual symbolism, Canby frequently centers plants as sources of medicine, knowledge, resilience, and intertribal connection.

Brad Kahlhamer’s multidisciplinary practice explores what he calls the “third place”—a meeting point between opposing personal histories.

Across paintings, drawings, sculptures, performance, and film, Kahlhamer incorporates a deeply personal visual language that draws on his Native American heritage, adoptive German-American family, and adult life in immersed in New York's artistic culture.

250 Years, Indigenous Futures looks beyond a single historical moment to foreground Indigenous presence, sovereignty, and creativity. Working across painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and film, these eight artists bring distinct perspectives rooted in their own Tribal Nations and communities, histories, and contemporary practices.
