Go big. Like, really big.

Metal Haus Gallery is looking for oversized, ambitious, space-commanding artwork for our upcoming exhibition, ######L.

We’re interested in work that plays with scale, presence, and physicality—art that changes the way you experience a room simply by being in it.

There is no maximum size for submissions.

There is, however, one very real constraint:

🚪 It has to fit through the door.
Our gallery entrance measures approximately 8 ft × 3 ft.

Because of the scale of this exhibition, we anticipate selecting only 3–5 artworks.

Painting, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, assemblage, installation—we’re open. If it’s massive and you think, “Is this too big?” we probably want to see it.

🇺🇸 This call is open to artists based anywhere in the United States.

Inverted Anthurium Diptych imagines what our emotions might look like if they grew from us like flowers.

Lana Pineda Köhn combines botanical imagery with the human form, using luminous oils against matte acrylic backgrounds to make each bloom feel like a small explosion of life and color. Beautiful but slightly unsettling, the work considers our inner lives as something that, like a plant, must continually be tended to.

Autogamous looks to the garden as a model for how we grow together.

Through weaving, crochet, knotting, beadwork, and other accumulated processes, Sam Fields builds a lush textile form where individual elements gather into something larger. Like a garden, the work depends on difference, exchange, and connection, reclaiming ornament, softness, and beauty as spaces of resilience and possibility.

Fireworks uses flowers to explore the complicated space between grief and becoming.

For Michelle Podgorski, these floral forms are deeply personal, reflecting the loss of an earlier version of herself while making space for desire, femininity, agency, and change. Beauty and damage exist together, capturing transformation not as something effortless, but as something uncertain, vulnerable, and alive.

Untitled No.10 grows slowly, one small element at a time.

Part of Karen Chan’s Emergence Series, the ceramic vessel begins on the wheel before its surface is meticulously built by hand. Abstracted organic forms accumulate across the piece, drawing from the movement, textures, and quiet details Chan observes in San Francisco’s natural landscape.

Untitled No.12 is a love letter to San Francisco and the natural landscape woven through the city.

Created to mark Karen Chan’s decade of living in San Francisco, the handbuilt ceramic vessel draws from eucalyptus leaves moving in the wind, the weathered trees of Golden Gate Park, and fog quietly rolling across the city. Built one small element at a time, its surface transforms these familiar details into an abstract landscape of movement and rhythm.

THE FLOWER OF MY LOVE transforms discarded and unexpected materials into an object about tenderness, resilience, and renewal.

Created by Oleh Tkachuk & Yasa Tsebruk, the necklace is part of their broader philosophy of Anti-Brutalism, exploring the tension between the fragility of life and its persistent drive to continue. Recycled bottle caps, vintage beads, discarded fishing line, broken ceramic, charred wood, and anodized titanium come together in a bloom that finds beauty through transformation.

Women collecting art. We love to see it.

At the 2026 San Francisco Art Fair, every work sold from the Metal Haus Gallery booth went to a woman collector.

Some were adding to existing collections. Others purchased their first original artwork.

Different tastes, different stories, different reasons for choosing the work, but each trusted her own eye and chose something she wanted to live with.

As a woman-owned gallery, there was something particularly special about watching the work leave our booth and enter collections built by women.

Because collecting isn’t just about owning art. It’s about deciding which artists and ideas you want to support, preserve, and make part of your everyday life.
