The "Diamond Ring" of the Solar Eclipse in A Coruña, Spain. Aug. 12, 2026.
During the 2024 eclipse, I was just getting into photography and traveled to Maine to experience and photograph it. I have to admit, I didn't really know what I was doing and kind of winged it. I still managed to get some neat shots of the corona!
This time around, I specifically wanted to photograph the Diamond Ring and Baily's Beads, so I was a little more intentional. I was also hoping to quickly switch to a wide-angle shot, take it all in, and get some video with my phone.
Ultimately, 1 minute and 17 seconds of totality did not allow for all of those things. It went by SO quickly!! I was also probably not as prepared as I could have been. But I did manage to successfully photograph the Diamond Ring, Baily's Beads, and the corona.
Experiencing totality during a solar eclipse is truly magical, and I'm so grateful that I got to experience it with my friend and my cousin! Will I manage to catch the next one? Fingers crossed! 🤞🌑☀️
