Last night, we stepped onto the Gold Carpet at Lincoln Center’s Summer Gala, an evening celebrating the transformative power of the arts and the people shaping its future. ✨

The gala honored Andreas C. Dracopoulos, Co-President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and Misty Copeland, who received the inaugural Lincoln Center Luminary Award recognizing artists whose impact extends beyond the stage and into their communities.

The evening also featured a standout performance by John Legend, a special appearance by Alice Smith, and moving tributes to Copeland’s artistic legacy and civic leadership.

Beyond the celebration, the gala supports Summer for the City, Lincoln Center’s free summer arts festival that has welcomed more than 1.6 million visitors since 2022, while also highlighting efforts to make the arts more accessible through the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Lincoln Center West Initiative.

We had the opportunity to share an insider’s look at Festival Napa Valley’s upcoming world premiere of The Judgment of Paris opera with composer Jake Heggie on KRON4’s Live in the Bay.

We also tasted Bouchaine Vineyards’ commemorative The Judgment of Paris blend, which will be poured at this special debut on July 18th, offering audiences another way to experience the story through the flavors of Napa Valley.

Honoring 100 years of John Coltrane and Miles Davis, while recognizing George Benson for his extraordinary impact on generations of musicians and fans, the evening was a reminder of how deeply this music continues to shape our culture today.

The celebration also highlighted SFJAZZ itself, one of the largest nonprofit jazz presenters in the world, whose year-round artistic and education initiatives continue to nurture emerging artists and expand the reach of jazz throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
