Fog City Singers

50-voice TTBB a cappella ensemble in San Francisco bringing professional-quality treatment to the barbershop style and beyond.

The Fog City Singers were founded in 2015 as an innovative mashup project, building on a core of leadership from some of the nation's best barbershop choruses (Ambassadors of Harmony, Central Standard, Voices of Gotham, and Voices in Harmony) and drawing singers and artistic direction from some of the San Francisco Bay Area's most elite vocal ensembles (Chanticleer, Volti, Clerestory, Philharmonia

Baroque Chorale, American Bach Soloists, The Choral Project, International Orange Chorale, Endersnight, Golden Gate Men's Chorus, San Francisco Conservatory of Music). Our mission is to create a close fraternity of musicians; to apply diverse, world-class resources to our craft; and to revolutionize how barbershop music is performed and appreciated.

Another incredible year making music in the Bay Area has come to a close. To celebrate our shared successes, Fog City Singers and Harmonia held our 2nd annual Barbary Bash! Much fun was had, delish foods were consumed, and a night chock-full of friendly quartet competition made for an absolute blast! This year, 24 pick-up quartets crossed the stage and the talent on display was impressive to see! We want to thank this year’s judges – Justin Sterling, Robert Lee, Barb Vander Putten, and the Barberkid legend Dom Finetti – for bringing so much energy and creativity to the judging panel with a slew of creative awards! Congrats to all!

It's Giving Tuesday!

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to commemorate the amazing year we have had at Fog City Singers. From welcoming new members, performing locally in the Bay Area and across the country, and even celebrating our 10th anniversary, we have been able to accomplish so much this year!

Thank you to everyone who attended our 10-year anniversary concert last Saturday. It was a packed house and your warm reception made for a spectacular night of celebration. For those who were unable to attend, we want to extend to you our gratitude for the support you’ve given us over the past decade! We can’t wait to get started on another 10+ years of singing, performing, and memory-making.

💈Fog City Singers Spring Auditions are now Open!💈

While we hope to see you on Saturday for our 10-year Anniversary concert, we wanted to promote our upcoming auditions because they are much earlier this time around in order to give new Foggers ample time to memorize all music for Spring!

Join us for a jam-packed set full of incredible music, the Division contest in March, multiple performances in April, and plenty of social events - dinners, parties, and lots of tags!

HOW TO AUDITION?
STEP 1: Video Submission by November 24th!
- Record a video introducing yourself and sharing a bit about your voice part preference, how you learned about the Fog City Singers, and why you are interested in joining.
- Perform a 90-120 second a ca****la solo (no accompaniment) of any song of your choosing.

STEP 2: In-Person Audition (December 1st)
- If you are invited to continue on, our auditions crew will reach out and schedule an in-person 20-minute audition on the evening of Monday, December 1st.
- The audition will guide you through some scales and vocal exercises, and have you perform in a quartet on “I’d Love to Live in Loveland”.

We are incredibly honored to be your 2025 BHS International 4th Place Chorus—medalists for the first time in our history!

The BHS 2025 Denver International was nothing short of amazing for the Fog City family, with three chapter quartets and BOTH chapter choruses performing. We were also able to put our largest chorus to date on stage with sixty-three singers total! We are thankful for the many amazing new friendships we made with choruses and quartets from around the world.

We want to thank Will Lagos, Gary Steinkamp, Anthony Bartholomew, Justin Miller, and Jeremiah Pope, the amazing coaches who helped us get this far. With their help, we found ourselves able to push through and achieve the “Breakthrough” we were hoping for when we started our set back in April. Additionally, we want to thank our membership and their families/support systems for the time and energy that they gave us to make the Fog City Singers who we are today.

The Fog City Singers will be taking the next month off to rest, recover, and welcome new members onto the risers through auditions! We are nearing our 10th anniversary this Fall, and we cannot wait to show all of you what we have next in store!
