Ok, story time. In 2018 and 2019 I had the privilege of touring with the Sonic Portal (affectionately called the "gong tent" by many spunions who couldn't remember our name). When I went to electric Forest for the first time in 2014 and got inside the portal it was like a whole new world was opening up to me. Afterwards they mentioned they live on the road, hopping festivals all summer, and right then I knew I wanted to tour with them. I reached out every year only to be told they were full up on staff, but in spring 2018 I got a call that they were looking for a full-time gong player to join them and I jumped at the chance. I still remember the first time I hit a gong and how amazing it felt. Went to lots of big and small festivals that year - sonic bloom, summer camp, shambhala, backwoods and lots more all over the country. Everywhere we went we would give people these mind-blowing sound experiences. This was before I really took art seriously. A wild coupla years for sure. In the post covid world lots of these festivals have died out and doing a full-on tour isn't exactly in the cards these days. I did professional sound healing for awhile in the bay but didn't really vibe with the crew and scene and have been out of it for awhile. Haven't forgotten the sonic portal days though

Compact and simple. Concept I've been playing with for a little while. Feels nice to push out a smaller piece in between working on larger canvases. Also gives bigger projects a bit of time to breathe between sessions. Love y'all, thanks for looking

"Dream of the vagabond"
I started painting this right after festival in late August. Inspired by my travels this past summmer and time hanging in the sunshine, swimming in rivers, enjoying all the beauty of northern california.

Feeling good about this one. I had been wanting to do a monochrome ultramarine piece for ages. This painting kicked my ass in a good way, but feeling lots of momentum as I settle in my new studio. Hope y'all are creating in whatever way you feel called through these crazy times.

Just got the varnish down on this one. Soon to be delivered to its new home in San Francisco. This one's not typical of my style, lots of raw brush strokes still on the canvas let you see the emotions that happened during the initial stages. Thinking about doing more landscapes in this style. 16x20"

Sick times at northern nights festival! Thanks to everyone who came by to check out the gallery. Special shouts to for hosting and to and .bee for holding it all together. Pretty cool to be showing art alongside other awesome artists who are also awesome people. x was truly one of the dopest events I've been to in a long while. This painting is still in progress and untitled but is nearing completion!

"Enter the mystery"

Inspired by my time at Lightning in a Bottle and a subsequent trip to Ojai. Trying to capture the magic of the golden hour in this one. Completing this painting felt like a huge stepping stone as this inner universe reveals itself.
