Engraving these glass boxes is always a delight. With each design, an empty form becomes a bespoke keepsake—crafted to hold memories, milestones, and treasures unique to its owner.

I know I’ve been quiet, friends! I do have some exciting projects brewing that I’m excited to share for the upcoming holiday season. Grateful to continue to practice and create custom gifts in the mean time. I hope everyone is healthy and well!

Joining late, but here’s my entry for today’s joyed by . I should have warmed up first, I jumped right into this cold, so you can see some shakes squiggly strokes 😅. Even now, 6-7 years (?) into practicing calligraphy (on and off, because life 😅😅😅) do I need to remind myself that it’s all about progress, not perfection. I’ve come a long way in my journey, and as I tell my son - the only person I need to be better than is me. 😁

I am rarely moved by celebrity deaths but his left what felt like a gaping wound for wanderlust souls around the world. All the extraordinary pain broadcasted in real time lately doesn’t help either. In context, he was probably romanticizing travel and all the adventure it promises. Today I can’t help but feel an underlying melancholy in his words.

It was my mother-in-love’s birthday recently where just our immediate family from both sides gathered together for the day. I didn’t want her to do any work… so we planned on ordering sushi but I wanted to do something extra fun and special so called multiple places to find a spot that was willing to rent our the boat to us for the occasion. I wanted to incorporate my calligraphy into the place settings - and my wonderful local group contributed with cloth napkins and garden flowers. I thought these details tied everything together and am so pleased with how it all turned out!

Personalized these glass jewelry boxes for a couple of very sweet sisters! I have a sweet spot for sisters that are close in age because I myself have one and we are only 14 months apart! Sure, we fought like cats and dogs growing up but we are the best of friends, and I’d never want to trade it for anything! I hope Myra and Josie are able to store and display their precious treasures in these keepsake boxes through adulthood. 🥰

I attended a company retreat for my new job a couple weeks ago in Scottsdale Arizona. I’d never been to Arizona before but my was it hot there! It was during the heat wave that we were experiencing in the Bay Area, so I pretty much left 105 degree weather for more 105 degree weather 😆. Anyway, for our leisurely activity, there were a slew of amazing choices, from horse riding to ATVs or even air balloon ride! But I decided I wanted to hide from the intense heat, so I chose the desert painting class. It was such a nice peaceful and relaxing time. The class was led by …. And I loved all her attention to details! The paintbrushes were tied with a silk ribbon, the handmade pottery from another local artist (which she gifted to us after!) and fresh flowers! We started with a blank canvas, sketched and then painted - scroll to see my progress! Also, be sure to check out her earthly desert themed artwork!

Every year I like to make a handful of ornaments for our friends’ kids or fur babies. I found these wood slices online, painted them black and then lettered them with silver markers. They can double as reusable gift labels! I enjoy creating presents that have functional use!
