From Adrian Brooks: In 1978, I participated in the Pride parade- reading my poetry from the stage as 400,000 LGBT people and straight allies gathered to support human rights and oppose the horrendous homophobia represented by Anita Bryant. Above my head, the rainbow flags were splendid in the sun I felt especially connected to them because my good friend, Lynn Segerblom, then known as 'Fairy Argyle Rainbow' had designed them and I saw her working to make them, assisted by many volunteers. Harvey Milk was Grand Marshal of the event. We were way behind in the public opinion polls but the spirit of the people was incredible and a testament to LGBTQ folk, then and now.

We envision rainbow flags as Lynn designed them in 1978 going out to all sorts of places around the world and, by their very presence, bringing together a new generation of LGBT people, uniting them with the flags as they first appeared. Thus, the iconic symbol is reborn and returns!
