Some flowers you look at. These you want to touch.
Donald Sultan's Six Blue Poppies is silkscreen with enamel inks and flocking, fine fibers layered onto the surface creating a soft, velvety texture. In person, the poppies feel almost sculptural. The color shifts as light moves across it. The experience is tactile and unforgettable.
Part of a series that celebrates the sensuality of flowers. Featured in From Painting to Print: The Poppies, Mimosas, and Lantern Flowers of Donald Sultan at American University Museum Katzen Art Center (2025).
