Davies Symphony Hall was completed in September 1980 after more than 2 years of construction. More than 6,000 indi

viduals, foundations, and corporations donated the money needed to build the Hall. The City of San Francisco donated the land and the state and federal governments gave a total of $10 million toward the $28 million project. Davies, the largest individual contributor to the building. During the summer of 1992, Davies Symphony Hall underwent a major renovation, enhancing its acoustics to ensure an even better musical experience, and making an already stunning interior more beautiful still. Special care was also taken to provide improved facilities for the physically disabled. Tours of Davies Symphony Hall are available every hour on the hour from 10 am to 2 pm on Mondays (except holidays), and on Wednesdays by appointment.
