Thirty years of making work means thirty years of returning to the same core questions—each time with new eyes, new context, and a shifting world around us.

Across decades of premieres, collaborations, and creative risk, patterns emerge: ideas revisited, themes reframed, stories expanded rather than resolved. The work builds on itself: layered, evolving, unfinished by design.

Some pieces speak loudly. Others whisper. All remain part of an ongoing investigation.

As we honor the past, we’re focused on what still lies ahead.
With our 30th anniversary year coming to a close, help fuel the next chapter. Visit our website (link in bio) to make a year-end donation.

Three decades of making, remaking, and responding. The work has never lived alone—it has lived alongside history, culture, conflict, joy, grief, and change.

Some pieces hold answers.
Most hold questions.
Many still hold unfinished thoughts.

Your support helps those ideas continue to grow into the next 30 years and beyond.

Happy birthday to Crystaldawn Bell!

A longtime RMK dancer whose artistry helped shape the legacy of our company, Crystaldawn continues to inspire us with her power, presence, and deep musicality.

As Artistic Director Robert Moses once said:
“When you see her dancing, you understand the music. She has an extraordinary gift.”

Show Crystaldawn some love today!

As we wrap our 30th Anniversary Season, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who’s been part of Robert Moses’ Kin. This milestone year celebrated our history and our future—from “New Legacies: One Act Dances” and the premiere of “The Kennings” to partnerships, panels, classes, and community gatherings that reminded us why this work matters.

Now we’re looking ahead and we need your support to launch the next chapter.

Your end-of-year gift helps us:
🌟 Create bold new works
🌟 Support our dancers and staff
🌟 Rebuild and expand RMK community classes and educational programs

As a nonprofit, every contribution fuels the creative process and helps keep our work on stage and in the community.

Will you make a tax-deductible gift to honor 30 years and power what comes next?

❤️ Donate at the link in our bio.

Thank you for being an essential part of our KIN. We can’t wait to share the power of the next season with you.

Robert Moses’ KIN in “The Kennings”
Presented by Z Space (March 14-16, 2025)

“Moses’ The Kennings, featuring eleven dancers, is marked by a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and fostering a dialogue on shared experiences. Moses describes The Kennings as ‘a narrative impressionist anthology, a meditation on the emotional, societal, racial, political, and gender-oriented expectations placed on all of us, with a specific focus at times on the experiences of Black men and African American diasporic concerns. For me, the most direct way to effect social change and meaningful human interaction is by characterizing society through the body and the word.’” — SF Classical Voice
