This Friday, we're so excited to partner with our fiends at the Balboa Theater, Frameline, and Amoeba to present the Balboa's opening night of TEENAGE S*X & DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA! We were lucky enough to catch this film at Frameline earlier in the year and we were STUNNED! Best movie of the year? Very possibly! We'll be putting together a little preshow inspired by one of our favorite classic slasher series! We can't promise you'll get penetrated at the screening, but you will get WET. Little Death c**s for us all.

This August, Canada comes Stateside with DRAGASSI - A Drag Parody Celebration of Degrassi: The Next Generation! If you grew up North of the border or addicted to The N here in the U.S., you were likely also obsessed with the insane antics of the tumultuous Toronto teens of Degrassi High! A media sensation that has seen five TV series and multiple television films, the era known as The Next Generation spanned 14 seasons and more chaotic “issue of the week” drama (pronounced Canadian style, rhyming with Alabama) than you can possibly imagine. From Drake getting paralyzed in a school shooting to heartthrob Craig doing blow with Taking Back Sunday, Degrassi GOES THERE and this month at Movie Madhouse, we’re paying homage with drag queens and kings acting out sketches inspired by the show’s characters, secret screenings, games, and more! Whatever it takes, you know we will make it through!

We're one month out from our submission deadline for the 2026 SF Underground Short Film Festival! Have a short ready to go? Send it our way at MediaMeltdown.tv/SFUSFF !

Don't have a film? Well if you didn't know, this is a festival that celebrates the low-budget, handmade, and amateur! We're looking for good ideas and punk rock energy more than finesse, so guess what? One month is totally enough time to make a short film! Take a week to write out your ideas and do some planning, take your cell phone or whatever camera you've got and shoot some footage over the week or two following, and then you have a week to edit and submit! Need any resources? Shoot us a message and we'll do what we can!

But can we also take a moment to talk about our incredible new poster by rae!!!?! We continue to be so staggered by Rae's ability to capture the drag mutant sensibilities of the fest in their art. Channel that energy yourself and make some weirdo films!
