After Trump 1.0 tried to end America's democracy on January 6th, 2021, a gay immigrant drag queen in San Francisco began corresponding with a retired, White, Republican woman from Bountiful, Utah -- his high school English teacher. But what happens when the political discussions veer into the personal? How far can you explore being "friends" with a former teacher? And how does this friendship shed light on America under Trump 2.0?

After this San Francisco premiere, the show will do the full run at Edinburgh Fringe.

QTAPI Week Kick Off Drag Show
Celebrate the 5th anniversary of Q***r and Trans API (QTAPI) Week with us at the QTAPI Week mixer and preview night!
May 23, 2025 6-8PM
National Japanese American Historical Society

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of Q***r and Trans API (QTAPI) Week with us at the QTAPI Week mixer and preview night, May 23rd from 6-8pm! Come mix and mingle with members of the Bay Area's Q***r and Trans API organizations at the National Japanese American Historical Society (NJAHS), located in the heart of San Francisco's Japantown. There will be refreshments, Pei Pei Ma'bilz and Kristi Yummykochi of the Rice Rockettes, COOL PEOPLE, and a preview of all the great events happening around the Bay Area for this year's 5th QTAPI Week. Interested in hearing about Chinatown Pride? The progress pride flag raising in Japantown? Come to the QTAPI Week preview night and mixer for an exclusive peak!

First held between May 22-29, of 2021, Q***r and Trans Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Week was proclaimed in San Francisco by the Board of Supervisors during a time of increasing anti-Asian hate in the SF Bay Area. Since then it has spread across North America and been officially proclaimed by several cities and counties. The week itself serves as a metaphorical bridge between API Heritage month in May and Pride Month in June, showing that our identities are interconnected, and can have compounding impacts.

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of Q***r and Trans API (QTAPI) Week with us at the QTAPI Week mixer and preview night!
