The Charlies is an improv ensemble that formed during a BATS Improv performance class taught by Rebecca Stockley in April 2017. The group has changed over the years with new members being added, other members going on hiatus and some members coming back. Story of The Name - Two dogs, both named Charlie :)
The origin of “The Charlies” comes from a short slice of life scene that started with two pl
ayers: Zev Rubenstein and Cristin Pescosolido. In the scene, Zev revealed to Cristin that both of his dogs are named Charlie. Mistakes are the greatest gifts, so two dogs named Charlie (played by Joel Bloom and Jared Polivka) ambled onto the stage to honor Zev’s offer. First Performance Format — Magic Movie Machine
