DOMINION closes...
The lighting and costume rentals are returned. The set repurposed for Young Performers Theatre's next production of the Little Mermaid and a four-year journey comes to a satisfying close.
As a playwright, I was thrilled, and at times overcome, to see the characters I wrote, labored over, and love come to life. I made choices on how the play should unfold and I'm thankful that everyone working on DOMINION shared in this vision. We Players development take a long time and I’d like to thank Theater MadCap and The Playwright Center San Francisco for helping me.
As a producer, I’m proud to have assembled so much talent to put on such a handsome show, from the set, lighting, costumes, and music. I know this play could not have happened without my talented friend and director, Rik Lopes, who loved this play as much as I. He assembled an incredible cast of actors who took great risks to develop their roles. We are both grateful for their rich and beautiful work. We are also thankful to our audience who attended our previews and performances - some multiple times. It’s why we all create theatre.
Thank you to stage manager, Linda Huang, designers: Mike Riggs, James Hunting, Arthur Oliver, Brooke Jennings, cast: Genevieve Perdue, Niamh Collins, Katherine Katharine Otis, Teri Whipple, Alex Poling, Nathan Tucker and Don Wood, Musicians: Charlie Gurke, Sig Hafstrom, Dana Barazan, and Myra Chachkin, Dramaturgs: Martin Schwartz and Adam Sussman, publicist, Liana Winternitz, front-of house volunteers: Jerome Joseph Gentes, Karl Schackne, and Rice Majors. Lastly. I'd like to thank my husband David Bourne, for his unending love and support to make this all possible.
So what’s next for us? At Last Theatre is a still new company and will continue project-by-project, providing opportunities for artists and pursuing theatre that inspires.
With much gratitude,
Alan Olejniczak
