“Spring in Japan” is a reflection of my travels through Japan and the deep inspiration that I found in its balance of tradition and imagination. Influenced by the energy of Tokyo, the quietness of smaller towns and my lifelong admiration for Japanese storytelling, the piece blends vivid color, layered composition and a sense of wonder and curiosity. Through this work I wanted to capture the feeling of moving through Japan in springtime, where memory, culture and emotions exist simultaneously.
