Z Space is thrilled to have been awarded a Social Impact Theatre grant from The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation for the third year in a row! Thank you so much for your support and what an amazing cohort of theaters you've chosen this year.

At a time when the American theatre sector faces complex challenges, it’s more important than ever to support theatres that bring stories that matter to the stage.

That’s why today we are excited to share the 14 theatres we are supporting through our annual Social Impact Theatre Grant Program.

It provides production support for theatres in Western states igniting positive changes in their communities through the programming they bring to life on stage, and innovating how they engage their audiences around timely, relevant issues.

Last week’s performance of SF Mime Troupe’s WRECKAGE: A Musical Tragicomedy has been rescheduled for tonight!

If you had tickets to the cancelled show you should have received an email about rescheduling or refunding your tickets. Tickets are still available for tonight’s performance!

About the Show:

Mari, a flower seller barely managing to hold on in an increasingly unaffordable city, must defend her street corner from invading evangelical Felicity, who is herself torn between joyfully anticipating the Rapture and the discrepancies she’s found in her church’s accounting. Meanwhile Bobbie, a successful software developer, realizes his new AI agent is far from intelligent. Patriotic immigrant Lance joined the National Guard and now finds himself deployed against protesters who are exercising the very freedom of speech he joined the military to defend!⁠

July 30 - August 1, 2026 on Z Space’s Steindler Stage.

A dance at the border of this world and the next, In a Memory Palace draws on the stillness of Noh as the spirit of a once‑celebrated Viennese couturier reaches across time. Live music, video, and masked performance evoke interwar splendor echoing into a present‑day American room where a long‑unspoken story seeks release.

Founded in 2000, Theatre Nohgaku brings Noh to the wider world by creating new works in languages other than classical Japanese. In a Memory Palace deepens this exploration, merging the formal structure of traditional Noh with a story that opens into Western theatrical aesthetics and multimedia expression.
