The coronavirus is making me experience what Germans poetically call heimweh, the hurt of being far from your native land.

The girls created the project to raise awareness about, and stand in solidarity with, the thousands of children being held at Customs and Border Protection facilities.”

In just a few months, 10-year-old Kaia Marbin and 11-year-old Lillian Ellis have started a movement that now stretches from the Bay Area to different corners of the world.
