As the prelude to California Rum Fest 2026, we gathered at Wright & Brown Distilling Co., an artisanal distillery that has reshaped the spirits landscape in Oakland. Founded in 2014 as the first distillery in the city since before Prohibition, Wright & Brown has built its identity through patience, technique, and a deep respect for tradition.

Their wh***ey and barrel‑aged rum begin with non‑GMO grains sourced from California family farms that practice organic methods. Every batch reflects their belief that great spirits are made slowly — starting as seeds in the fields and becoming the golden liquid in your glass. With this philosophy, they honor the early American wh***ey and rum makers who forged an entire culture with local grains and hand‑built copper stills.

Today, we are ready to welcome you at Trader Vic’s, where the celebration continues.
