🥃 Welcome Hampden Estate Rum to California Rum Fest 2026!

A name that carries centuries of Jamaican heritage, one of the oldest sugar estates on the island, and today the global reference for full‑bodied, intensely flavorful pot still rum.

A Legacy Since 1753 Hampden’s story begins in the mid‑18th century, when the estate operated as a large sugar plantation under Archibald Stirling. By 1779, the iconic Hampden Great House stood tall, its ground floor serving as a rum store for generations. Through wars, new ownerships, and the evolution of Jamaica’s sugar industry, Hampden remained a cornerstone of Trelawny — shaping communities, donating land for schools and housing, and building the famed Hampden Wharf during World War I.

A Spirit Rooted in Land and People Set within the legendary Queen of Spain Valley, Hampden’s 3,500 acres hold some of Jamaica’s finest cane lands. Its rum has traveled across oceans, supplying Europe, England, and Scotland long before its official bottlings reached the world.

A New Era of Excellence In 2009, Everglades Farms Ltd. breathed new life into the estate, investing in jobs, infrastructure, and community development across Trelawny. By 2010, Hampden began aging its rums at the distillery — and in 2018, the first official bottlings marked a historic moment: a new chapter for high‑quality, extraordinary Jamaican rum.

Today, Hampden Estate stands as the quintessential heavy pot still rum, admired by enthusiasts, collectors, and professionals around the world.

We are honored to welcome a house with such depth, heritage, and cultural impact.
