🌸 Art, Solidarity, and Nature | Arte, Solidaridad y Naturaleza 🌸

On February 7th, we gathered in the Mission to weave together the things that matter most.

🎨 We made tile art as an act of healing in community, standing in solidarity with the people of Iran. Each piece of art carried hopes for freedom, peace, and unity. 🇮🇷✨

🌿 And we gave away native plants to share our love for nature and promote the restoration of our local ecosystems—right here in the heart of the Mission.

🌿 Tradicion Peruana Cultural Center x MAPP: A Gathering of Roots, Rhythms, & Renewal 🌱

¡Qué hermoso día de conectar, crear y crecer! Este dos fines de semana pasados en el Tradición Peruana Cultura Center, nos reunimos con jóvenes y miembros de la comunidad para un evento MAPP que entrelazó arte, música y la profunda sabiduría de las plantas nativas.

What a beautiful day of connecting, creating, and growing! These past two weekends at Tradición Peruana Cultura Center, we came together with youth and community members for a MAPP event that wove together art, music, and the deep wisdom of native plants.

En un espacio lleno de espíritu y canto, exploramos:
In a space alive with spirit and song, we explored:
🎶 Talleres de música que conmovieron el alma y nos recordaron los ritmos de la tierra.
🎶 Music workshops that moved our souls and reminded us of the rhythms of the earth.
🌼 Conversaciones profundas sobre plantas nativas, restauración de ecosistemas y el poder de la jardinería guerrillera aquí mismo en SF.
🌼 Meaningful conversations about native plants, ecosystem restoration, and the power of guerrilla gardening right here in SF.
🪴 La hermosa conexión entre arte, cultura y ecología: cómo la creatividad puede sanar tanto la tierra como a la comunidad.
🪴 The beautiful connection between art, culture, and ecology—how creativity can heal both land and community.
💚 Cómo la naturaleza nos nutre, y cómo nosotros, a su vez, podemos nutrir a nuestro planeta.
💚 How nature nurtures us, and how we, in turn, can nurture our planet.

Juntos, plantamos más que semillas; plantamos ideas, conexiones y esperanza. Recordamos que sanar nuestros ecosistemas también es sanarnos a nosotros mismos, y que cada pequeño acto de cuidado es un paso hacia el bienestar colectivo.
Together, we planted more than seeds—we planted ideas, connections, and hope. We remembered that healing our ecosystems is also healing ourselves, and that every small act of care is a step toward collective well-being.

Un enorme agradecimiento a cada participante, artista, cultivador y soñador que compartió su energía y corazón. Sigamos haciendo crecer este movimiento: arraigado en la cultura, extendiéndose en creatividad y floreciendo en comunidad.

🌟 ¡Un Día Hermoso en el Evento MAPP en el Jardín Secreto! 🌿
🌟 A Beautiful Day at the MAPP Event in the Secret Garden! 🌿

El sábado 6 de enero nos reunimos en el Jardín Secreto para un evento MAPP mágico dedicado a las plantas nativas, el aprendizaje lúdico y la conexión comunitaria sincera. / On Saturday Dec 6th, we gathered in the Secret Garden for a magical MAPP event dedicated to native plants, playful learning, and heartfelt community connection.

Juntos, con niños, jóvenes y familias, hicimos lo siguiente: / Together with kids, youth, and families, we:
🌱 Aprendimos sobre plantas nativas y nos ensuciamos las manos plantándolas. / Learned about native plants and got our hands dirty planting them.
🎵 Cantamos alegres canciones bilingües con la encantadora Chipilina. / Sang joyful bilingual songs with the lovely Chipilina.
🖐️ Creamos con arcilla en una sesión especial con Chi. / Created with clay in a special session with Chi.
💚 Honramos a nuestra Pachamama y expresamos gratitud por los regalos de la naturaleza. / Honored our Pachamama and expressed gratitude for nature’s gifts.

Fue un día de nutrir no solo la tierra, sino también nuestros cuerpos y almas, recordándonos lo importante que es crecer, crear y dar las gracias juntos. / It was a day of nurturing not just the earth, but also our bodies and souls—reminding us how important it is to grow, create, and give thanks together.

Gracias a todos los que vinieron, compartieron, plantaron, cantaron y moldearon con nosotros. El jardín está más verde, nuestros corazones están más llenos y nuestra comunidad es más fuerte. / Thank you to everyone who came, shared, planted, sang, and molded with us. The garden is greener, our hearts are fuller, and our community is stronger.

🎶✨ A Magical Afternoon of Music & Community / Una Tarde Mágica de Música y Comunidad ✨🎶

Last June, we celebrated an unforgettable musical jam session with talented SOTA students and the incredible Javi Jiménez! Organized by passionate moms, this event brought our community together through music while strengthening the beautiful bond between mothers and teens. 💛

El pasado mes de Junio, celebramos un ensamble musical inolvidable con los talentosos estudiantes de SOTA y el increíble Javi Jiménez. Organizado por mamás dedicadas, este evento unió a nuestra comunidad a través de la música mientras fortaleció el vínculo entre madres y adolescentes.

🌱 ¡Seis semanas de crecimiento! / Six Weeks of Growth! 🌱

¡Nuestro maíz azul, tomates y pepino limón ya están creciendo y dando flores! 🌽🍅🥒 Pronto tendremos una cosecha deliciosa y llena de colores. 💙💛 Y los preciosos girasoles acompañan a las plantas comestibles!

Our blue corn, tomatoes, and lemon cucumbers are already growing and flowering! 🌽🍅🥒 Soon, we’ll have a delicious and colorful harvest. 💙💛

🌱 English + Español 🌱

Just 3 weeks in and we already have bok choy! 🥬 Our little tomato plants keep growing strong, and so do our yarrow and geranium. Moms together are growing this! 💪 Every day, we’re learning and building food security—one plant at a time. 💚

¡Solo 3 semanas y ya tenemos bok choy! 🥬 Nuestras plantitas de tomate siguen creciendo, al igual que nuestro yarrow y geranio. ¡Las mamás lo estamos cultivando juntas! 💪 Cada día, aprendemos y construimos seguridad alimentaria—planta por planta. 💚
