We are thrilled to share that our cast of Paranormal Activity will reprise their roles in the Broadway run of the show!

With the exception of one cast member, every single person you saw on our stage earlier this year — Cher Álvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight as James, Shannon Cochran as Carolanne, and understudies Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks, and Michael Holding — will be onstage at the August Wilson when it opens in New York City. They are all also making their Broadway debuts with this show!

We are so thrilled that this production will haunt Broadway soon — with a full run in Boston at Emerson Colonial Theatre next month!

Auditions for our production of Iraq, But Funny will be held June 15-17 at A.C.T.’s Strand Theater. Learn more and apply at airtable.com/appzyQNCz4057S6X4/shrjyhVTo4IybNQL4!

Iraq, But Funny is a raucous satire about five generations of Assyrian women reclaiming their stories, as narrated by a British guy, played by playwright Atra Asdou. This original dark comedy jauntily marches through The Ottoman Empire to modern-day U.S.A. exploring history, family, and dysfunction.

Join us for the inaugural Conservatory Showcase!

The Conservatory Showcase Class offers recent A.C.T. students an opportunity to experience auditioning for a project, rehearsing with a professional director towards a performance, participating in a technical rehearsal as a performer and ensemble, and performing live before an audience in one of A.C.T.’s professional theater spaces, all in a brave learning environment.

This year we will be featuring 12 students in nine pieces: three solo songs, three monologues, and three scenes. A nice mix of drama and comedy, as well as two original pieces, written by the students themselves. We will be featuring students from the Young Conservatory, adults from Studio A.C.T., and alumni from San Francisco Semester Fall 2022, and Summer Training Congress 2024!

Come see a scene from the Pulitzer Prize-winning Proof by David Auburn, a solo of "Still Hurting" from The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, a monologue from Dance Nation by Clare Barron, and more!

Performances are held in the Reuff next week, Friday, June 5th, and Saturday, June 6th, at 7:30 p.m. The show will be 65 minutes, with no intermission. Each performance will culminate in reception of light bites and drinks.
