Project Artaud A pioneering arts complex in San Francisco’s Mission District established in 1971. We’re a member-run, member-supported non-profit organization.

Welcome to Project Artaud, a pioneering arts complex in San Francisco’s Mission District. Project Artaud is one of San Francisco's leading artist communities, housing 3 theaters and 2 dance studios. It is also home to arts practitioners and educators - over 70 painters, sculptors, designers, photographers, filmmakers, writers, musicians and performers. In 1971 our founding members rehabilitated and converted a factory and city block built in 1924 to create housing and studio space, artists’ resources and community. Today a multi-generational group of members guide this organization forward, still relying on the volunteer participation of the membership to keep Project Artaud a thriving place.

A reminder that this Saturday we are having a special salon.

Potluck BBQ in Jackhammer 2- 4:45pm
DJ Saiman Lee 2-3pm (last minute surprise! yay)
The Society of Rockets 3pm and 4:15pm. (2 sets)
Photographer Marc Hors presentation 5-6pm. (in the Sculpture Studio) - Marc will share images and stories from his 5-year bicycle journey from Alaska to the southern tip of Chile.

Hi friends,

We’re kicking off the May salon with a potluck barbecue and live music by The Society of Rockets beginning at 2:30pm in Jackhammer Park.
At 4:45pm, we’ll transition to the Sculpture Studio for the 5pm presentation by photographer Marc Hors who will share images and stories from his 5-year bicycle journey from Alaska to the southern tip of Chile.
