March 12th - April 24th. OPENING RECEPTION on March 12th 6-9pm. Chasing the desire of warm light reflecting on skin from a tree canopy overhead, Kerri created a site specific installation in an unavailing attempt to funnel this feeling into Cloaca.

one of the central elements of us VS us is the work of a favorite writer of nikita's , . In Jordan’s poem “Letter to the Local Police,”” Jordan satirically takes up the voice of an insipid suburban resident writing a letter to the police to level a complaint about roses “abiding in perpetual near riot/of wild behavior [and] indiscriminate coloring.”

"One of the most widely-published and highly-acclaimed Jamaican American writers of her generation, poet, playwright and essayist June Jordan was known for her fierce commitment to human rights and political activism. Over a career that produced twenty-seven volumes of poems, essays, libretti, and work for children, Jordan engaged the fundamental struggles of her era: for civil rights, women’s rights, and sexual freedom. A prolific writer across genres, Jordan’s poetry is known for its immediacy and accessibility as well as its interest in identity and the representation of personal, lived experience—her poetry is often deeply autobiographical. Jordan’s work also frequently imagines a radical, globalized notion of solidarity amongst the world’s marginalized and oppressed. In volumes like Some Changes (1971), Living Room (1985) and Kissing God Goodbye: Poems 1991-1997 (1997), Jordan uses conversational, often vernacular English to address topics ranging from family, bisexuality, political oppression, racial identity and racial inequality, and memory. Regarded as one of the key figures in the mid-century American social, political and artistic milieu, Jordan also taught at many of the country’s most prestigious universities including Yale, State University of New York-Stony Brook, and the University of California-Berkeley, where she founded Poetry for the People. Her honors and awards included fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Council on the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts, a Rockefeller Foundation grant, and the National Association of Black Journalists Award." Knowing that all of us are more than ever glued to our screens and devices, we thought we'd share some of the content we have been consuming. It is a compilation of online content that has caught our attention these past few weeks. Maybe some of these will resonate with you. Dan Fox's book Limbo, now as an audiobook: "In a world that demands faith in progress and growth, Limbo is a companion for the stuck, the isolated, delayed, stranded and those in the dark. Fusing memoir with a meditation on creative block and a cultural history of limbo, Dan Fox considers the role that fallow periods and states of inbetween play in art and life."

Mike Davis talking about Coronavirus politics on The Dig podcast.

Devs streaming on Hulu. The new series by Ex-Machina's director Alex Garland. It's uneven, but highly watchable. The cinematography captures San Francisco as it actually feels like most of the time: a moody, gray and gorgeous horror movie set. All the right colors and ambiance are captured. If you live here, you know.

New Models, a cultural journal/aggregator. Make sure to listen to their fantastic podcasts too.

A tour of architecture renegade Ricardo Bofill's home, which was formerly a cement factory. This series is very soothing if you are into architecture and interiors. The episode with Sue Webster's home is quite nice as well.

Film at Lincoln Center Podcast. Great interviews with film directors, actors and critics. They are also streaming some amazing films online. Vitalina Varela and Bacurau are highly recommended.

Pornhub is streaming Leilah Weinraub's Shakedown, a seminal documentary about an utopian le***an strip club in LA, black-owned and operated by women.

Few art exhibitions make sense being viewed on line. This one works.

The current exhibition at Serpentine Sackler Gallery, Cambio by Formafantasma. Make sure to look through their research materials and watch the videos.

Schitt's Creek is over and I (marcella) am going to miss it. David is the imaginary art bff I never had, And he manges to do the dreamiest pivot out of the art world. His mom played by Catherine O'Hara is pretty "fabulous" too. You can watch it on Netflix, Hulu and the final season on POP TV

And finally, if you need some fabulous trash to take your mind off things try these movies currently on Amazon Prime:
Dark Waters, s**t motherhood taking place on a remote italian island in this Lovecraft-tinged giallo.

The Driver's Seat, Liz Taylor's Euro, experimental phase playing an unstable spinster in search of someone to murder her. Andy Warhol plays a diplomat. This ain't A Taste of Cherry.

Night of a Thousand Cats, what could be better than a demented pl***oy with a fenced-in pit full of hungry kitties? Toxoplasmosis possibilities abound.
