Backpacking adventure with the whole family!! We actually went out on this trip, got caught in a rainstorm and had to bail, and then came back two days later and got er done. I know everyone thinks their kids are amazing, but mine are truly amazing, Finn swam back and forth across the lake on her own, after getting covered in leaches, and this was Sunny Buz’s first proper backpacking trip, I think she ended up hiking nearly 6 miles total over the weekend.

We heard the craziest sounds last night, some neighbors had told us they’d heard mountain lions crying recently, but it still caught us off guard and made us run to the coop to check on the hens. In my life I’ve been a barista, an artist, a father and husband, a substitute teacher, a garbage man, a security guard, a photographers assistant, a snow plow operator, an amateur adventurer and backcountry explorer, a 4 color off set print operator, a small engine two stroke mechanic, and probably a bunch of other things I cant really recall at the moment. Raising chickens is just another of these funny pursuits and interests I find myself getting involved in. Here’s a video about raising Cornish Cross chickens for meat.
