Saint Joseph Art Foundation is an amazing redone church with a bar, balconies and an open second floor looking down, ladders to turrets with floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms open to the main floor for simultaneous performances, a main stage, and dramatic decor.

Audience members are invited to draw, sketch, or simply observe as the room evolves from careful observation to expressive experimentation. La Pocha Nostra invites you to an evening where the traditional life drawing class becomes a live performance laboratory.
For centuries, artists have gathered around the human body to study proportion, discipline, and form. Salon des Refusés revisits this tradition and turns it inside out.
Throughout the night, a rotating cast of models, dancers, and performance artists will inhabit a series of live tableaux across the historic nave of Saint Joseph’s Arts Society. Some poses will reference classical traditions; others will move toward improvisation, theatricality, and aesthetic disruption.
Audience members are invited to draw, sketch, or simply observe as the room evolves from careful observation to expressive experimentation.
Materials provided: Pencils, newsprint, drawing boards (limited quantity)
Materials not allowed: Charcoal, oil paint, acrylic paint, spray fixative, pastels
Photography policy: No photography or video during the drawing session. The focus is on presence and on documentation through drawing.
