I had some ideas for a prank and got myself a 49er jacket on eBay a few months ago. But the truth was, after so many years, I still knew nothing about football other than Joe Montana was a big shot. While waiting for a friend in the parking lot, a guy in 49er jersey approached me with a big smile and asked:”49er fan?”
“Yup!!” I nodded, as I didn’t want to explain why I was wearing a 49er jacket, thinking he’d go away.
But he DIDN’T! The following 10 minutes became one of the most awkward moments in recent memory. I have no idea how I was able to carry on an enthusiastic conversation with a passionate football fan without even knowing what a quarterback was. I tried to scrape any information/news related to football in my head possible and threw at this guy, but it was like pouring gasoline on fire, he only got more excited and wanted to talk more. Just when I was really cornered and about to be exposed, my friend’s car finally pulled up in front of me. Hallelujah!
“Sorry I was late”, my friend said,”What were you guys talking about? You both seemed excited.”
“I just won the Bullsh*ting Super Bowl.” I breathed a sigh of relief.
