Last Friday we hosted an open rehearsal in Studio B with choreographer Dexandro Montalvo for his upcoming world premiere “Vámonos” part of program A in ODC/Dance Presents: Dance Downtown (3/31-4/3).

“Emerging from the seemingly endless pandemic lockdown, choreographer Dexandro Montalvo is excited to get back on the floor with dancers and create his art. To express his relief and pent-up creativity, Montalvo is choreographing his new world premiere Vámonos, Spanish for "we're leaving," that is, leaving the isolation of the pandemic.” - Michael Phelan

This disruption/sea change has certainly created new digital pathways of engagement for arts but not all of these will remain after we are able to gather in-person again. The one that are sticky will have to be more than just pressing play on an archived video...
