We are looking for a volunteer with some experience in repairing roof leaks. It looks like the leaks are primarily coming from the edges around skylights and air vents.

The SF Bay Area Leather Alliance board has accepted a proposal for consideration of the transition of SF Catalyst from a group of individuals looking to become the owners and operators of the space. This group's spokesperson will be presenting a 5 minute presentation at the Sept 30th, 2021 Town Hall meeting that is open to anyone interested in hearing their proposal.

In an effort to keep the meeting efficient and informative, we are taking questions related to how this group plans to operate the space. Do you have concerns? Questions? And want to see if you can get them answered at this meeting? Keep in mind, some very specific operational procedural question might not be able to answered in this meeting.

Questions that are similar will be consolidated and asked by the facilitator. Opportunities to ask questions during the Town Hall will be made via the Zoom chat function. The chat area will be monitored and appropriate questions will be asked of the presenter.

We want all the communities of the SF Bay Area that are interested in supporting the space and attending/hosting events there to be able to ask questions that may reflect what they want to see happen in a community space. The information gathered at this Town Hall from all sources will be used as the Leather Alliance Board of Directors further discusses the proposal and takes a vote on it during the October Board Meeting (Oct 21st, 7:30-9:30pm).

Thank you for your patience as the SF Bay Area Leather Alliance has worked on the included Request For Proposal (RFP) in regards to SF Catalyst. We have worked to be as thorough and complete as possible in helping those interested in becoming the new stewards of the space. In a few days, a way to ask questions from the community will be made available. Those questions will be answered and/or included at the Town Hall meeting to be held on September 30, 2021.

September 23rd – Notification to Qualified Submissions
September 30th – Public Town Hall via Zoom

The SF Bay Area Leather Alliance (Alliance) has been running SF Catalyst since 2016 as a project of the Alliance. It has been a labor of love meant to serve the needs of the Bay Area communities. As time has gone on, and changes have happened within the organization and the needs of the community, we have regularly evaluated the Alliance’s involvement. The Alliance had originally intended its involvement in the project to be transferred to another organization at some point in the future.

The time has come for the Alliance to formalize the Board’s recent agreement that the space and its constituents are better served by transferring ownership of the space and its operation to organization/group/person.

This Thursday, the Alliance is holding a special meeting to formally vote on this decision. Additionally, in this meeting, we will be discussing the options we see as available to the Alliance in making sure that the space lives on. We know its important to all the communities in the Bay Area and want to make sure it continues on.

During this meeting, the Alliance board will discuss possible next steps including but not limited to: the process we will use to solicit proposals from the community, the process by which these proposals will be evaluated, and the setting of a future date in which a public forum can be held for the community to ask questions.

This Thursday’s meeting will be short, focused, and open to the public. As written above, a meeting for questions to be asked by the public will be set up shortly after this meeting to answer general questions and those who are interested in submitting a proposal.

If you are interested in this procedural meeting, we hope you can join us this Thursday. Again, this meeting is solely for the purpose of taking a formal vote about the Alliance’s role in running the space and to confirm the next steps in the process. It is of paramount importance that the space remains open and a resource for the communities the Alliance has had the pleasure of serving over the past five years.

The meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday 8/12/2021 at 8:30pm.

Dear community,

On Thursday, 8/12/21, at 8:30 PM, the Board of the SF Bay Area Leather Alliance will hold a Special Meeting (via Zoom). This meeting is open to the public.

Following the general consensus of the board members present at a recent retreat, the Board is meeting to formally vote on ceasing its operation of SF Catalyst. If it does vote to do so, it will then consider options including the transfer of SF Catalyst to a new organization or sale to a private interest.

The Alliance recognizes that SF Catalyst is an important community resource and invite you to participate in the discussion. Zoom info will be provided here.

Compliant with the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s order for all public indoor spaces, guests of SF Catalyst are required to wear masks designed to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 regardless of their vaccination status until further notice. Disposable masks are available at the front desk.

Good morning! Effective Monday, 8/2/21, all guests of SF Catalyst are required to show proof of vaccination (or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours) to attend events at the venue until further notice. This applies to privately hosted events as well as SF Catalyst hosted events.

This extraordinary measure which exceeds that required by the city of San Francisco is being taken in response to the evolving threat of the Delta variant to the health of our community.
