در اثر هنری جدیدی که اخیرن بر روی اون‌ کار می کنم محور مطالعه م بر روی بیان تصویریِ حروف فارسی و عربی است که در نگاه مخاطب غربی به شکلی شبیه به آبستره و فرم هایی دارای اعوجاج ظاهر می شن. این کلمات برگرفته از خاطرات شخصی هنرمند در خاورمیانه هستند و به صورت گلدوزی روی پارچه دوخته شده اند. چین پارچه در اینستالیشن نهایی اثر به آبستره بودن کلمات و دفرمگی آنها بیشتر دامن می زند و نهایتن هر بازدید کننده ی اثر ترجمه ای منحصر به فرد و شخصی از این اثر در ذهن خود پرورش می دهد.

This work blends an image of the legendary with a photo from my family archive. At its core, it explores the lives of Iran’s working and lower-middle-class families under state violence. A ghostly image of my childhood self stands in the center—bearing witness.

بسیار مفتخرم که امسال یکی از برنده های جایزه ی نهادِ هنریِ استاد « اویسی» در آمریکا هستم.
با آثار استاد اویسی در اولین سال های تحصیلم در رشته ی هنر در ایران آشنا شدم و همواره مسخِ تسلط استاد در ترکیب خط و نقاشی ایرانی در ترکیبی مدرن و هوشمندانه بودم.

Please join our public interactive performance of “In My Feathered Pajamas” this weekend in Ferry Building and Japantown.

In My Feathered Pajamas; Women’s Stories of Critical Refuge, explores themes of sanctuary, resilience, and migration.
Each event will invite participants to crochet feathers, symbolizing fragility, migration, and strength. Feathers will be gathered by participants to construct a communal nest symbolizing safety and community. The nest will evolve into a wearable feathered robe, symbolizing collective protection and transformation.

The performances will also feature historical context printed on handouts, highlighting women’s contributions to AAPI narratives at each site. The feathered robe, created from the events, will be available for public display, extending the project’s impact.

Folding Fields is a performance series about expanding serious play, exploring the weird and unpredictable, and co-creating with Nature.

This month last year at , my painting-installation “We Were Only Kids” was on view.
Initially, I covered the entire painting with a fabric imported from my home country, Iran—a material traditionally used for women’s hijabs, known as chador.
During the opening reception, I pierced the fabric to reveal the portraits underneath, allowing my family members in the painting to breathe fresh air.
