It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Margaret Kerry. Margaret served as the life-action model of Tinker Bell in the Disney animated classic Peter Pan (1953), pantomiming the pixie for animators to use as reference. She later provided the voice and reference movements for the red-haired mermaid in the film's mermaid lagoon scene.

Margaret was a dear friend to The Walt Disney Family Museum and visited many times to share her experience working on Peter Pan. In 2021, she donated her ballet slippers used during the live-action reference filming, which we exhibited in 2024 as we celebrated The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. She also generously granted us an interview—also released in 2024—where she discussed her experience as Tinker Bell and working with Walt Disney.

Our condolences are with her family and friends during this time.
