and her photo classes recently participated in City College’s Photo 360 event. The day was an incredible success, and it was clear that her preparation and commitment made a meaningful impact on students’ experience. They kicked off the morning with an outstanding presentation from City College alumni Perla, whose action sports photography portfolio truly inspired students. Her journey and work provided a powerful example of what is possible through passion, creativity, and continued education.

The lunch session featured the incredibly talented Kat De Laet, whose pet photography presentation was both engaging and memorable. A special shout out to Kat for sharing her expertise, creative process, and passion with our students it truly made an impact. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. They interacted with college students, faculty, and professors while participating in workshops such as light painting, darkroom photo developing, fashion photography with live models, photo walks, and the unique camera obscura experience. These activities gave students a true sense of what college level photography programs can offer.

One of the most rewarding takeaways from the day was hearing directly from several students who expressed strong interest in attending the City College photography program next year. That kind of inspiration and connection is exactly what Photo 360 is all about. a special shout-out to George Tubon and Caity Fares for their support and contributions in making the event run smoothly. Also, a big shout out to Jan Roberts and Audry Stover for helping with the event making sure everyone had an awesome lunch experience. AND a big thanks to Mr Kurt for joining us for the day!

The Shape of Space- the 3rd exhibit of student work for the Florence Johnson Theatre. Currently on view in our main office. Mr Masse’s Intermediate Multimedia Design classes focused on creating a sense of implied space in this unit. They first used elements of atmospheric perspective to create layered landscapes and then used isometric perspective to create unique worlds and settings. Love the range of subjects and approaches! Well done, students 🌟

Fool the Eye exhibit! Mr G’s 10th graders created trompe l’oeil drawings this semester. They assembled items that represented who they are and attempted to create realistic drawings of these items. Celebrating who they are and showcasing technical skills with line, shape, space, texture, and color values. The exhibit was the second art exhibit in the Florence Johnson theatre this year and can now be viewed in our main office. Well done👏👏👏
