She has been dancing since the age of 10, doing all types of dance forms, such as ballet, jazz, afro-jazz, tap, modern, and hip hop. She attended and graduated from Helix Charter High School where she was part of the Helix Dance Team. She has studied dance in Long Beach and at Grossmont Community College. Miss Kirk also studied business entrepreneurship and hopes to one day open her own studio. Sh
e has been very involved with the company, participating in several teams, including the hip-hop, jazz, burlesque and competition team. She also has experience in the professional dance world as a back-up dancer for local musical artist Abrina at the Light It Up Tour with Wiz Khalifa & Miguel. She recently expanded her role at The Dancehouse studio by creating and co-directing the new youth competition team Nucleus. Aside from dance, she practices other art forms such as writing, music and singing. Miss Kirk is excited to see what the future holds and hopes to incorporate her experience and passion for the arts into her new team and her individual professional goals. Finch, born in San Diego California, got his start in middle school with Eveoke Dance Theater. In high school, he was actively involved in dance activities, the student government, track and field, cheer leading, and was manager for the student store for 3 years. Finch also played men's varsity volleyball, was varsity captain, and received most valuable player, made second team all-league and took his team to (CIF). From there, he joined TranscenDANCE Youth Arts Project. TranscenDANCE gave him the chance to become a real dancer/ performer and received training in many style like West African, Afro-Cuban, modern dance, hip hop, and authentic movement. Every season, the performance group put together a show about issues in our community. Youth activism, community empowerment, social change, and a love for dance are the ideals he learned from this journey. Finch then enrolled in San Diego City College and San Diego Mesa College where he has performed in several student and faculty concerts. He was also chosen to work with Jean Isaacs in the annual Trolley Dances. From there he joined Kruciaal Element Dance Company, where he has trained in hip-hop. Recently, he and another dancer Megan Kirk have started the give back in the form of starting a hip hop dance team for middle and high school youth.
