A Web of Culture

A Web of Culture A Web of Culture is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Hellenic culture in America.

“A Web of Culture – Dancing with the Hellenes” is a website about the culture, history, ancestry and spiritual values of Greek immigrants in America. We hope to become an electronic museum where immigrants from many cultures in America can share their stories and photographs: a living history repository. Currently, the site focuses on the history of a 40-year ministry of the Greek Orthodox Church

in America: the Greek Orthodox Youth Folk Dance a& Choral Festival, which is now celebrating its 40th Anniversary.

Dear FDF Family,

We pray you and your families are in good health and spirit.

Since our last communication regarding FDF and an in-person event in 2021, we continued to monitor COVID-19 and health regulations across the states for events and gatherings. Unfortunately, we are unable to host an in-person event in 2021.

This has been a challenging year for us all since we last saw each other in February 2020. Although we cannot all be together this coming February, the FDF team honors our faith, heritage and traditions year-round. We plan to stay connected and keep the kefi going through our social channels for now.

Thank you for your continued support of this ministry. We look forward to seeing you in 2022.

So grateful for this honor received on Christmas Day from Bridges International Film Festival ΓΕΦΥΡΕΣ-Παγκόσμιος Κινηματογράφος!!!
WIFT GR gives the Bridges' Festival established “NOSTIMON IMAR” award to the film KEFI, THE STORY OF FDF, GREEK ORTHODOX FOLK DANCE FESTIVAl by Patti Testerman from the United States, for the exciting, fast alternation of dance and verbal-narrative scenes, with dynamic movement and melodicity. Interesting remarks-references to the role of cultural heritage and the function of tradition in multicultural societies, such as the United States in particular. The film preserves the civilization, encourages multiculturalism and the cooperation of generations and shows us the quality side of the Greek Diaspora. https://bridgesfest.eu/en/festival/awards
