SDPAL will host the 30th Star Awards to celebrate volunteers in the performing arts on Monday, October 26, 2026. Join us to commemorate this milestone year!

Volunteers are the heartbeat of live arts, making every performance possible. Each plays a vital role in our community, from ushers to box office sales to dedicated board members. The Star Awards offer a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate these exceptional individuals for their invaluable contributions and all they do to support the arts.

There is no cost for current SDPAL members to submit an honoree (one per organization). Non-SDPAL members may nominate a volunteer for $85 - please contact us for details at [email protected].

SDPAL's Member Monday highlights the work of San Diego Shakespeare Society! After returning to Naples from Prospero’s Island, King Alonso dies suddenly. His son Ferdinand succeeds to the throne but soon falls under the malicious influence of Prospero’s brother, the unrepentant Antonio. He convinces Ferdinand they were deliberately stranded on the island by Prospero. Charges are brought against Prospero for piracy and false imprisonment. And the wedding of Miranda and Ferdinand is off. Characters from the play will be called as witnesses. At the end, the audience will serve as the jury and decides the defendant’s fate. SDPAL's Member Monday highlights the work of the San Diego Theatres! Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Little Shop of Horrors with a screening hosted by Ellen Greene, who originated the role of Audrey on stage and continued on to star in everyone's favorite film adaptation. This 1986 cult-classic sci-fi musical comedy features a nerdy florist, Seymour Krelborn, who cultivates a man-eating, blood-thirsty plant named Audrey II. As the plant brings fame to his Skid Row shop, it demands increasingly human sacrifices, forcing Seymour to balance his love for coworker Audrey with the plant's deadly appetite. Singer-songwriter Mia Bing has been hustling and is desperate to break through in the music industry. Just as she receives the call that could change her career, she’s pulled back to her childhood home, where she’s once again the “disappointing” daughter of her Asian immigrant parents, still haunted by an unresolved secret. SDPAL's Member Monday highlights the work of Cinballera Entertainment! Grand opera is coming to the California Center for the Arts with Giacomo Puccini’s 1-act opera “Il Tabarro”. An original ballet takes the stage with live orchestral accompaniment in the Center Theater, with the Temecula Valley Symphony at the helm. Opera, ballet, and an intensely dramatic story will transport you to a single hour at sunset on the River Seine in Paris shortly before World War I. The All City Auditions are an annual event hosted by the San Diego Performing Arts League, providing local performers with a valuable platform to showcase their talents before a panel of casting directors, talent agents, and performing arts professionals from across Southern California.

The 2026 All City Auditions will be on Monday, September 14th at Cygnet Theatre in Point Loma. Registration is due by JULY 13TH! Enroll today to join the waitlist: https://form.jotform.com/261458045410047

We have room for 100 participants who are currently members of Cast & Crew. You may opt to join Cast & Crew if you receive notification that a time slot is available and you are no longer on the waitlist.
