"Fortunate Sunset"
I haven't made any landscape photos in a long time. I've gone out to try, but the environment didn't cooperate. The day I made this photograph, I went to Barrio Logan to get a cup of coffee from Por Vida Coffee. I carry my camera with me most of the time when I leave my apartment. After I finished my coffee, I began heading for home. I noticed the sky had some clouds that I thought could be promising at or around sunset. I decided to go to Cesar Chavez Public Pier where I made this photograph. The date was October 10th 2025. The time was approximately 6:27 pm. I didn't have my tripod with me. My camera was handheld, the shutter speed was 1/20th of a second. I hope you enjoy this photograph as much as I did in making it.

I traveled to Bosque del Apache, National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico in memoriam of a good friend of mine that past away late last year, Nobby Coburn. Nobby went out of his way to mentor me about how to improve my photography. We became very good friends. I've been to Bosque del Apache four times. I'd never have been there if it hadn't been for him inviting to go on a trip with him and other photographers to Bosque. Nobby was an outstanding photographer. He was a very good friend. I miss him deeply. I wouldn't be the photographer that I am today without him reaching out to help me improve. The photograph is from December 2024.
