Documenting getting school supplies with my daughter in my journal. I love seeing a double spread with the same ink color on both sides. It’s so satisfying. Slowing down to write about these special moments even through the chaos of how busy things are leading up to back to school is allowing me to appreciate the last few years of going back to school shopping with my youngest. Omg 😆 it’s been so long since I bought a backpack 🎒 & totally had sticker shock. Is that how much backpacks cost nowadays?

Quick morning swatch while waiting for coffee at home before we head to the beach for sunshine & relaxation.

This took about 5 minutes to get my creative juices flowing. If you are interested in learning about creative ways to use fountain pens & inks in your journal, I will be reviewing content like this in my upcoming Ink Your World workshop San Francisco Pen Show .

If you are a working professional who never makes time for yourself & have journals with blank pages that you are having a hard time filling, we will review strategies that you can turn to again and again to create pages that make you happy and excited to flip through.

Tried my hand at using the mop brush borrowed from Karen today Urban Sketchers San Diego meet up at Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park. Love these colorful stones and cute art galleries. Usually I always use Platinum Carbon Black to sketch first before adding watercolor, and today I tried de Atramentis Document Grey Ink first & it’s a much softer line than what I’m used to seeing. I loved using the mop brush too!

Prepping some fun surprises and supplies that I received from Pen Chalet in preparation of Ink Your World at the 2026 San Francisco Pen Show.

I’m so excited to share some techniques on how we can creatively do journaling together with fountain pens and inks.

We will learn about documenting our days to remember trips, special moments, celebrations, and most importantly to find the joy in our everyday, ordinary lives.

If you are a busy working professional, who always makes time for projects and deadlines, but you forget to make time for yourself, this workshop will reveal journaling strategies that will help you feel happier by fueling your soul with the joy of creating.

If you have ever felt nervous about starting a new notebook or journal, or have felt unsure about what you can do with your fountain pens and inks, we will be practicing new ways in which you can experiment with different types of fountain pens and inks.

You will leave this workshop with a few pages that are fun, colorful, and remind you of the excitement you felt when experimenting with fountain pens and inks.

You will learn strategies on how to fill up the empty pages that you skipped in your Hobonichi, Travelers Notebook, or any other journal that you may have been inconsistent with because life gets way too busy.
