North Park EcoDistrict Our goal is to build a strong community of leaders that will move our city’s neighborhoods toward a resilient and sustainable future.

The partnership of North Park Mainstreet, SDG&E and San Diego Green Building Council is working together to create San Diego’s first neighborhood scale program aiming to engage local businesses in ‘green’ practices and promote the concepts of EcoDistricts. The North Park Sustainability Initiative will follow the goals of an EcoDistrict Framework, a neighborhood or district with a broad commitment to accelerate neighborhood-scale sustainability. North Park community members will work together to establish metrics and set goals to measure the progress in the areas of waste, water and energy use. Special attention will be given to historic buildings in the area and specific preservation guidelines that they require. Our goal is to build a strong community of leaders that will move our City’s neighborhoods toward resilient and sustainable future.
