AftaShock’s favorite siblings duo! 👯‍♀️

Emily - brings attitude, confidence, energy, and facials to every rehearsal and performance! When you watch her perform, her energy commands the room.

Mary - lights up the room with her positive energy, is a source of creativity and is always intentional with what she brings and how she shows up for the team.

Together, Emily and Mary find and appreciate the joy in the in-between moments - before, during and after rehearsals. Aside from the dancing, it’s about the people, the experiences, and growth along the way.

The Pacio family highlights a really special thing we experience at [ .trainingacademy ] – multigenerational dance. We can be in class with kids from 8 to 88, and not even think twice about it. Afta Shock members get to witness and experience this feeling first hand at every rehearsal where dad Rey Rey and daughters Emily and Mary share the dance floor and energy as members of the same troupe.

Though each have their own story and journey, the dance floor and stage are not only places to connect as dancers but also to nourish family bonds through movement.

Jona - Aftashock’s Official Team Diva 👑, and we love every second of it! Jona brings confidence, energy, and personality with just the right touch of drama. He keeps the energy high and the team entertained.

For Jona, dance is a way to connect to his joy and passion – proving that his body is capable of expression through movement each time he’s on the dance floor. His journey and presence within our dance community is a special testament to the inclusive and safe space (.trainingacademy ) provides for all people.

Reva - makes you feel right at home and cared for with her warm and inviting spirit, full of heart for the entire team. She’s quick with her jokes (and bars), always bringing the laughs - and when it’s time to dance, she’s an absolute powerhouse on the dance floor.

Dance has provided Reva with balance in a busy life – something she can do just for her that allows her a positive outlet and escape from the hustle of daily life.

Heather - whether she’s in the ocean or on the dance floor, she brings a keen eye and thoughtful presence to the team and has been a constant pillar of support for her teammates.

Skylar - Aftashock’s Fall 2025 Season: Rookie of the Year. This recognition shows not just in how she shows up to rehearsals, but also in how she shows up to train: with focus, drive and commitment to improvement and growth each time.

Both started coming to the studio .trainingacademy with an open mind to try new things and stay active. Their experience is one felt by so many who come to Culture Shock – both Heather and Skylar have found community rooted in friendships formed through dance and a journey of growth that keeps them coming back.

Jenn - a physical therapist by day, she has helped many members of our team recover from injuries, and keeps our spirits energized with her enthusiasm and encouragement!

Helen - brings a magnetic energy into every move she makes, and she does everything with purpose. As a reliable and committed teammate, she shows up consistently – with power, intention, and heart.

As we hear so often, Jenn and Helen have taken big breaks in their dance journeys, and like so many others, dance has that way to pull you back in. Both have found expression through movement as an integral way to nourishing your soul and finding joy, even as adult life can be challenging.

💌 For anyone who needs to hear it, dance is a safe space to connect to yourself, and to your community.

Afta Shock is special for so many reasons. Not least of all is our belief that dance does not have an age limit. We are a 25+ troupe made of dancers with an age range of nearly 40 years. Individually, we have all felt the pull of dance - and together, united in our love of dance, community, and growth – we’ve discovered so many unexpected joys in the journey.

In this new series, and through the voices of our teammates, we are highlighting the reasons and motivations that keep us coming back and showing up for ourselves and for our team. For us, age is simply a mindset, and we choose to dance because it nourishes the soul.

We hope this labor of love provides kindling for the fire that keeps you young. Share to a friend who might need a little motivation today to get up and dance!

🎙️ Featured Dancers

Mike - not only known for his contagious laugh that can be heard in and out of the studio but also for his heart, positivity and leadership he brings into every rehearsal. Mike took a long break from dance in his 20’s to focus on career and life, eventually finding his way back to the studio in his 30’s. Remember, taking a break is ok–sometimes even necessary–dance will always be there for you when you’re ready.

Vincent - a dynamic personality and energy to match! With a smile, he pushes himself and everyone around him to grow! Vincent’s dance journey began at the studio, and like many others, he stepped away for a season to focus on life. But dance has a way of calling you back. From scholarship opportunities to CS troupe, he now gives back to the community as an active instructor at the studio. Proof that passion and love for dance doesn’t fade with time but has many opportunities to evolve with time.
