After delving into some modern gay erotica last year I decided to see what the erotic writers of the past had to offer. written in the late 1800’s and left at a book sellers desk, Teleny is a piece of gay history thought to have multiple unkown authors-- it is often attributed to Oscar Wilde for it’s resembelnce to his writing style in parts.
I loved the adventure of reading this book, the slow buildup of beleiving in true love again to the inevitable, tragic downfall-- this is the second book from the era I have read in this genre and I just absolutely love the flowery language and poetic structure of the writing. As a writer, I always hope to fall somewhere in the middle of the greats of then and today. 📖✍️
