An upcoming performance that brings one bassist’s lifelong dream to the stage, creating an unforgettable moment for him and his family. 🎶

After leaving home 30 years ago, Sam Johnson, an upright and electric bassist, will take the stage as his mother and uncle fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing him perform. This special concert brings together not just an incredible lineup of musicians, but also some of Sam's closest and talented friends.

Expect to hear classical compositions, Argentine Tango, Brazilian Bossa Nova, Spanish Flamenco, American Jazz, and Americana, featuring a rich blend of original pieces alongside reimagined classics.

If there's someone who can tie together musicians from all over San Diego across such a vast repertoire, it's Sam. Come be part of this unforgettable evening of incredible, diverse music and new family memories.

NO COVER and open to the public every first Sunday of the month! All experience levels are welcome to come jam and/or enjoy our jazz community 💛

Students of Paper Moon Music are also invited to a FREE jazz workshop from 5-6 PM before the jam, led by Jeno. Learning jazz techniques can be intimidating, but here, you’re alongside others who are also learning just like you :)

An afternoon of live music for a local cause 🎶

For Back to School Day, we’re excited to spotlight a fundraiser concert on August 16th at Paper Moon Event Hall, hosted by one of our longtime students and his middle school rock band from Francis Parker, Southbound 5.

Tickets are $20 per person (ages 5 and under are free), and all proceeds will benefit Horizons San Diego and their mission to support educational equity.
