Are you looking to expand your vocal range?
Do you want more power in your voice?
Are you trying to figure out the difference between a mix, a belt, and a mix-belt - and “what the heck does it mean to point a belt?”
Do you want to increase the overall health of your vocal instrument?

SESSION 1:
SUNDAY, MARCH 12
11 am - 1:30 pm
AGES: Adult

SESSION 2:
SUNDAY, MARCH 19
11 am - 1:30 pm
AGES: 12-18

This class is geared towards musical theatre performers, voice over artists, and actors. In this energy packed 2.5 hour workshop, students will gain a better understanding of their voices and will improve singing technique in order to enrich their crafts as musical theatre performers.

We will start with a 30 minute full body workout, engaging core muscles and sharpening mind-muscle connection (MMC). This will be followed by an in-depth lesson on spinal alignment awareness and anxiety-reducing techniques.

After a short break, students will be introduced to SOVT (semi occluded vocal tract) exercises, including Straw Phonation. At this point in the workshop, students will feel their voices open and relax. Then, we will move into more challenging exercises that focus on expanding range and improving resonance in all registers of the voice.

Students will learn how to find more nuance in their sound, as they learn the differences between these four techniques:

* Full mid-belt
* Pointed high-belt
* Mix-belt
* Mix

After a cool down, we will close the workshop with a discussion on vocal health.
