Don’t despair. HOPE is now showing at our Digital Gym Cinema starting Wednesday, September 9 and you can get 🎟️🎟️🎟️ now at digitalgym.org or in person at our box office! We are very excited for the opportunity to open Na Hong-jin’s latest film day-and-date alongside cinemas across the nation. If you come watch the film with us, it increases the likelihood of opening more high profile first run releases at DGC!

Premiering in Competition at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, HOPE emerges as Na’s biggest film
yet, starring Hwang Jung-min (The Wailing, also directed by Na) as the police chief Bum-seok; Hoyeon (Squid Game) as his colleague Sung-ae; Zo In-sung (The King) as the hunter Sung-ki and, as the alien visitors, an international cast including Academy Award®-nominated Michael Fassbender (Black Bag) as the alien protector Ma’veyyo; Academy Award®-winning Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) as Queen J’aur; Taylor Russell (Bones and All) as her lady-in-waiting Ai’dovor; and Cameron Britton (Mindhunter) as the towering, ferocious and seemingly unstoppable Va’migere.

Having spent his career pushing the boundaries of genre, Na uses HOPE to explore the massive
conflict born from the sheer ignorance and differences in perspective between humans and
extraterrestrial beings in a rural village near the Korean DMZ. With breathlessly orchestrated
chase sequences, state-of-the-art creature design, and thought-provoking interspecies conflict, HOPE shatters boundaries in science-fiction and action-thriller filmmaking.

Congratulations to the Teen Producers Project youth filmmakers on premiering their documentary and narrative short films over the weekend at the Digital Gym CINEMA! The screenings were packed with family, friends, and supporters of youth media education.
