Really love the colors and vibe of my Moroccan Desert Dreams collection. Everything came together well. Funny enough, one of the hardest patterns was that wavy sand dune pattern. I drew it by hand and had to get it to be a seamless repeat. I wanted it to show the 'shakiness' of a hand-drawn item, but still be a smooth gentle slope to mimic sand dunes. I think I re-drew it about 15 times. Which one am I most unsure about? The camel pattern. I really wanted to use them in a pattern, and it's the one that I like but am not totally satisfied with. My favorite? The illustration itself and the botanical pattern turned out exactly how I envisioned the vibe to be. I had actually drawn the illustration quite awhile ago, but decided to add the botanicals and create a collection around it. The two blender patterns above the illustration are my take on abstract palm leaves.

It's that time of year! Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice surface pattern collection. Hard to believe with how hot it's been here in SoCal, but fall is upon us which means Halloween is near -yay!!! I created this Pumpkin Spice illustration a year or so ago, and finally got around to creating a whole collection around it. I am really happy about this collection. Once again, the easiest looking pattern (the mini marshmallow dots) were the hardest because I hand drew them, needed them to be seamless and wanted them to look random. I am honestly really pleased with this whole collection.

It's officially the fourth and final week of the Cat Coquillette ✻ CatCoq / kat-koke / Mini Collection Challenge! This week, we're rounding out the collection with a typography or lettering piece. I chose to add the words, "Wild & Free" to my complex pattern. I love the sentiment as well as the bright colors. I don't use a lot of typography in my work, but I'd like to use more and want to create a body of work with uplifting short affirmations that can be used on lots of products.

Newest collection. I used an art deco pattern I made a few years ago, and created a Butterfly Illustration with quotes (something I'm trying to do more of), and then created a couple more blender patterns. I actually made 2 other blender patterns that I really like, but they are more of the mid-century vibe, so I saved them for another project down the road.

While I'm not ready to take 's Art of Collections class just yet ($, & [Stretched Thin Stephanie and 90% Nina IYKYK]), I am hoping to be more ready next year and when I do, I want a portfolio loaded with collections so I can start learning more about pitching for licensing. Struggled with this one a bit. Love the lizards, love the botanicals and all the colors. Not sure if everything is too busy. Even my blenders ended up being less minimalistic than I would normally like. Thoughts? I ended up liking each piece and they do go together, but I'm not feeling this collection as much as I thought I was going to.

Just a post, no reel this time. I didn't love the constant movement:)

My 1st blender pattern for my Retro Savanna Collection. Combining the ochre and earth and teal and bloom palettes that I plan to have in this collection. I originally drew the first illustration with the tan cheetah but love the whimsy of teal, green and pink cheetahs.
