Applications are officially open for Emerging Choreographers Showcase and Awards! (formerly Young Choreographer's Showcase and Prize) Apply online at sandiegodancetheater.org or use the link in our bio!

SDDT is no longer enforcing an age limit for its annual competition that awards three prizes to participants: Best Overall Choreography, Best Dancer, and Audience Favorite. We will be accepting submissions from dance makers with less than 5 years of experience presenting work.

This season SDDT invites submissions that focus on climate change & environmental justice issues, using dance as a tool to mobilize people to achieve a goal or challenge injustices. Our awards this year includes:

- Best Overall $1000 + Live Arts Fest Night + Free Summer Workshop
- Best Dancer $500 + Guest Dancer in a SDDT Show + Free Summer Workshop
- Audience Favorite $500 + Free Summer Workshop

This is fantastic! Performing art centers are essential to our communities. Personally, I was saved by my local performing arts center and now thrive in life. I was given the ability to accomplish what I desire and the courage to dare of dreaming up a better world. Way to go Maraya, keep up the great work!

We have found a location for the Beach Bash!😁👏👏👏🎊
For one year only the Bash will be held in Orange County , California.🌞🌊🌴
More information will be coming but for right now here is the important stuff..

▪︎Beach Bash dates are April 6-11

▪︎We will be holding the comp at the Hilton Orange County Costa Mesa.
(we got you excellent room rates!! From $129+ tax per night 😊👍)

▪︎John Wayne Airport is 10 minutes away (there is a free hotel shuttle !)

▪︎Each Style has its own dedicated day for maximum space.
Kids now get their own day on Sunday!!
