Our Story
The University of San Diego Choral Ensembles offer engaged performance experiences to undergraduate student musicians, incorporating applied historical, literary and performance practice skills, applied language and theoretical skills, conducting/leadership, and group musicianship within choral context. The USD Choral Ensembles perform at university and community functions, performance tours and university concerts. The Ensembles are available for both university functions and outside bookings, and maintain a repertoire that ranges from madrigals and motets to contemporary gospel, avant garde and popular music. Exceptional choral singers of high academic caliber may be eligible for an academic scholarship through USD’s Choral Scholar program.
The USD Concert Choir, under the direction of Emilie Amrein and Paul Infantino, rehearses on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:20 in Camino Hall 153. Members of the Concert Choir may audition to participate in the USD Choral Leadership Collaboratory, a student driven, project-based ensemble, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-2:20 in Camino 153.
